Who we are: Darshan is a traditional French patisserie – classic French pastries and venoiserries with an emphasis on seasonality.

Who you are: A kitchen professional with at least one year restaurant experience.

What we are looking for:

• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment – how to use oven, food processor, meat slicer, mixers
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Must be able to stand continuously and lift up to 50lbs during shifts
• Attention to detail – able to follow a recipe

This position is an essential part of our small kitchen, a support person and baker who creates our mouth-watering pastries and deserts.

The job:

• Prepare ingredients by washing and chopping, cutting meat etc.
• Follow a prep list
• Organize and label ingredients
• Basic cooking/baking duties
• Maintain a clean kitchen – washing dishes, taking out trash, sanitizing
• Follows set pars, and communicates shortages
• Assists with inventory
• Maintains company and industry safety and cleanliness standards

Must be able to exert well-paced ability in a limited space as well as have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and position requirements. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. This position also requires basic math skills.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Must be able to learn quickly, carry out written and verbal instructions, build relationships and work effectively as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
